Richard Moody Chief Operating Officer

Richard Moody brings more than twenty years of construction and development experience to the MJW management team. Over the years, his various roles as construction foreman, project superintendent, project manager, contractor, and developer, have given Mr. Moody extensive expertise in historic rehabilitation, new construction and retrofitting, with unique insights into the management of multi-faceted developments from Type V residential buildings to commercial high rises.

Mr. Moody began his collaboration with MJW Investments in 1989 during the restoration of the historic Edison El Rey mixed-use building in Pasadena, California. Responsible for all facets of MJW’s construction projects, he interfaces with the city building officials and ensures the acquisition of all required environmental permits and procedures.

Prior to joining MJW, Mr. Moody served in supervisory and project management positions with the Azhkenazy Development Company, The Homestead Group and Har-Bro, Inc. He also supervised project managers and construction superintendents as Branch Manager for Valentine Construction, a company specializing in the repair of construction defects. Mr. Moody’s expertise in construction defects makes him uniquely qualified to identify and provide cost effective solutions for potential problems.

Mr. Moody is a graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Business Management. He currently holds a B General Contractors License in the state of California.
